The U of U

All U need and all U want. Studying at "the U". Actually the U of U - the University of Utah.
If there is a flyer, the "u" is always highlighted. Everything is red and white. Even doghnuts. Okay, maybe not everything.

All U need and all U want ("Alles was dU brauchst und alles was dU möchtest"). Ich studiere hier an der "U". Eigentlich an der "U of U" - der University of Utah. Sogar Doghnuts. Okay, vielleicht nicht alles.
Shuttle driver: "Seriously??? You took a picture of a doghnut??" Me: "Yeah. I'm an international student." Driver: "Ah, okay!..." :D
Shuttlebusfahrer: "Wirklich? Busfahrer: "Achso...!"

I've been here for 2 1/2 weeks now. And I'm getting used to it :) I know which shuttle to take to go to class, I learned to use my credit card, I got used to straight hair at the end of the day - desert climate = no curly hair. Well, unless I make it wet every now and then :)
I learned a lot (but not everything yet!) about "school pride", when my roommate told me that she should go to the football game; not because she wants to, but to support her team. Hoodies, t-shirts, caps... they all are witnesses of "the U". ...

But... to be honest: I love it :) I really like and enjoy it to be here, diving into a culture that is so different. Not completely, but in many ways. I took 4 classes, 3 of them are social work, the forth is management. I LOVE studying but at the same time I am really challenged (and it's only the second week of class!). Readings, readings and readings. Have I mentioned the readings yet? Well, and then assignments, papers, project work... and readings. How good I love challenges as well :)

And how good that sometimes, yeah sometimes there is a break. The Student Life Center (Fitness Center that we can use for free). Friends. National Parks.

Freunde. Nationalparks.
